Hi,

 

In an attempt to improve my search/tag query, is there any chance to limit the YouTube search to titles only? Most videos I want to fetch have the keyword in title while the ones with it in the description tend to be quite worthless.

 

There seem to be some support from YouTube API regarding it but haven't had any success.

Unfortunately, there is no way available via the YouTube API to limit the search results to only the Title of the video.

The technique described there will not perform a search over only the video titles. They're basically either filtering on the client side, or querying for a specific video ID. Neither of which will address this issue.

While we plan to support this in the future, but it's not currently available out of the box. However if you know a little PHP, then I would suggest you take a look at this area of the code. You could very easily add additional parameters such as location to refine TubePress's search results. (Note that even though the page says the feature is unavailable, it is in fact working again).
