Yesterday I updated to TubePress 2.2.0 and today I tested different browsers. All (Opera, Chrome, IE6, Mozilla) work fine except IE8. I used Win7 on 2 notebooks, the error message is: Tubepress failed to initialize. The Object doen't support this attribute or method (this was in German). Wordpress is 3.1. On that page I had one tupepress widget with setting: [tubepress mode="favorites" favoritesValue="fglasena" description="true" playerLocation="shadowbox" embeddedHeight="420" embeddedWidth="510" thumbHeight='94', thumbWidth='140']. Thumbnail and meta data are visible but YouTube video is not starting.

Best regards: Friedrich

... ok I checked it in more detail. If in the IE8 menue under extra one adds the website to the compatibility list TubePress works fine without an error. This behavior has changed with TubePress rel. 2.2.0 (before it was perfect) and I think the developers should investigate.

Thanks for the report, Friedrich. Are you experiencing the same issue when you view http://tubepress.com/showcase/ with IE8 and Win7? I've tested it with that combination and haven't experienced any trouble. Are you able to share a link to the site where you're seeing this error?

To everybody who encountered the same problem (described above) with TubePress 2.2.0, Win7, Wordpress 3.1 and Internet Explorer 8 this is a workaround: IE8 can be set into a compatibility mode to IE7 by putting in the line just at the very beginning of the section of the html code.
