I left the "Cache directory" blank when I enabled API cache. Your directions say "Leave blank to attempt to use your system's temp directory."
 
I'd like to verify that it is caching, but I don't know where the system's temp directory would be. Please advise.

The default cache location for wordpress is:

/wp-content/cache/

So it *should* be there, however if you have W3C installed, it will likely be elsewhere.

I do have w3tc installed, and have looked in that directory for signs of a tubepress cache. I did find folders in a wp-content/cache/page_enhanced/www.humortimes.com/videos directory related to the tubepress pages, but I think w3tc created those -- yes?

 

Where else might tubepress' cache be?

 

I have actually deactivated w3tc for now because of problems, but did not delete its cache folders.

By default, TubePress will attempt to use your webserver's temp directory (typically /tmp) for its API cache. You can change this via WP Admin > Settings > TubePress > Cache > Cache Directory, or via the cacheDirectory option:

[tubepress cacheDirectory="/some/directory"]
