It was my understanding that integrating the 'playlist' version of tubepress would allow the user to only click 'play' on the first video and each consecutive video in the playlist would auto-play after it - just like on youtube, however, this is not working. Please advise.

Hi,

Continuous play (or "auto-next") is a feature reserved for TubePress Pro.

Does that answer your question? Hope you'll consider upgrading!

Hi Eric,

The client whom I am setting this up for actually is a PRO member and we are still having trouble. Any ideas on why it's not working for the pro version?

Hi,

Based on what I can see at http://174.123.90.66.../video-library/, is appears that you have the free version of TubePress installed. Can you confirm that you've followed the TubePress Pro installation instructions?

Hi Eric,

Yes the tubepress pro installation instructions were followed. At first, it was setup as the free version, but as you can see by the fact that there are three playlists on this page: http://174.123.90.66.../video-library/, it is certainly now the pro version. The 'continual play' function is the only thing we see missing. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately you're definitely running the free version. Your debug output shows

Type of IOC container is org_tubepress_impl_ioc_FreeWordPressPluginIocService

TubePress Pro debug output shows something like

Type of IOC container is org_tubepress_impl_ioc_ProInWordPressIocService

Until we get the Pro version installed, there's not a whole lot I can do from my end. Also, I'm curious as to why your username isn't showing up in green? If you could PM me your purchase details I'll remedy that for you.

Thanks!

Hi Eric,

(I am logged in under our pro account, but we are also 'orbitdesign' who started this thread).

I was wondering if you could re-visit our issue with the sequential auto-play not working. We have the gallery back up on a temp site that can be seen here: http://dentalhealthcolorado.com/temp/ and we are running tubepress pro version 2.4.2.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Took a look at your gallery. The short answer is that I don't know exactly why sequential play isn't working. Looking at your HTML source, I can see that all the right pieces are there. So the issue is definitely related to JavaScript - that much we know for sure.

One thing that looks slightly "off" to me is that there are some weird error messages from FireBug's error console. Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/g1CuI.png. My hunch is that another plugin and/or your theme is loading some JavaScript that is confusing TubePress.

If this were my site, here's what I would do to narrow it down. Bear in mind, these steps might be disruptive to your customers, so proceed with caution. After each step, I would check to see if TubePress's sequential play is working again. If it works, then you've pinpointed the problem. Otherwise you should continue along the steps.

  • Switch to the "Twenty Eleven" WordPress theme.
  • Disable all plugins except for TubePress
  • Re-enable the plugins one-by-one until you can pinpoint the culprit
Annoying? Yes. But also effective in identifying what the problem is. Because currently I don't see why TubePress isn't behaving as it should. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
