Hi Christoph,
My guess is that it's the "fluid thumbs" feature of TubePress that is the culprit. Basically this feature is a bit of JavaScript that tries to calculate the width of the thumbnails' container, then adjust each thumbnails width to best fit that size. It appears that for whatever reason, it's having difficulty calculating this initial width. For me, your thumbnails show up in FF regularly. But never in Chrome.
Here's a screenshot. Notice on the right that the width of each thumb has been set to 0. In essence they've been squeezed down to nothing. To test this, please disable fluid thumbs from WP Admin > Settings > TubePress > Appearance. Does that make a difference?
