Our videos we have in our Vimeo album are continuing to play in the background when we go to another page on our site. They are supposed to be pausing or just coming to a hard stop, but instead you continue to hear the audio and the video keeps playing. This is similar to the issue users experienced on this thread, but you guys have locked that forum. http://community.tub...ge-2#entry22851

I've tried doing multiple browser resets as well. Our site is http://www.clearonlinevideo.com

Please help.

Stjepan

Hey Brandon, I just tried viewing our site's player at http://www.clearonlinevideo.comand we are still encountering this bug. We've tried clearing our history and viewing on several different browsers. Please advise.

Hey Brandon, do you have any further information on this bug? We are still having the same issue with our videos playing in the background when a user goes to another page on our site. http://www.clearonlinevideo.com

stjepan,

Our developers and myself have tested your site multiple times and are not finding this issue present anymore.  What browser, browser version, operating system and version are you using and seeing this issue?

Have you tried from a completely different computer?

Thanks!

Hello,

After extensive testing on our end we can re-create the problem with videos not stopping in IE 11 windows 8.1.

Please let us know if this is something that was solved and we need to make changes to the website?

Thanks!

Thank you for reporting this issue. Could you send us a link to your website so we could test? I'll also experiment with my test Wix websites in IE 11 to see if I can reproduce.

Quick update. Seems like it works properly almost all of the time, but about 5% of the time the video will continue to play. Is that what you're seeing as well? I'll continue to investigate.

Hello,

I asked our team to test and unfortunately we can easily re-produce the videos not stopping to play. Here are some of the responses:

#1

It’s consistently happening for me

Click here, let it play  http://www.nghtv.com...-episodes/c1jaq

hit the back button, still plays Consistently.

http://www.nghtv.com...beginning/c1avo

back button (same as above)

Also, if I hit the back button in the tool bar, not the button on the page, it happens more frequently.

#2

yes, still the same for me tried the first few, only at Album latest episode the video stopped, but not at album beginning, demo, constriction ...

Aha! Hitting the back button was key to reproducing the issue. Investigating now and hopefully will have a solution pushed out by COB today. Stand by for an update..

The best I can tell, this appears to be a bug on Wix's end with no real technical workaround that I can think of. I've just filed a ticket with them to get their feedback. They are usually pretty fast at responding so I'd suggest we wait to hear back. I'll update this thread when I have more information.

Today's status update:

  1. Last night I was able to easily reproduce the issue using the steps I described to Wix.

  2. The Wix developers tried to reproduce the issue and weren't able to do so.

  3. I tried to reproduce the issue today, but wasn't really able to. The problem did show itself after I clicked around back and forth a few times, but it seems to be almost entirely random. This of course makes debugging extremely difficult.

So we know that there's a problem somewhere - it's just a matter of finding a way to reproduce it consistently. I'm going to continue to investigate by setting up a test site. I have a hunch that it might only affect Vimeo videos (and not YouTube) so that could be a clue. I'll post back here once I have more.

Hello,

Just so you know we tested it with YouTube videos and got the same result so the problem is in TubePress / Wix and not Vimeo or YouTube.

Please keep me updated on progress.

Thank you,

I'm continuing to test but unfortunately don't have a solution in place yet. It's proven to be extremely difficult to reproduce. I haven't given up! Will report back once I make any progress.

Can you please let me know if this is Wix or TubePress problem? I know you were setting up a testing account to try out YouTube and talking to Wix about this issue. Were you able to re-produce the same with YouTube videos? Did Wix suggest any solutions?

I haven’t heard from you, what is the status of fixing this issue?
