Auto Play Next Video In Player?

Best Answer eric, 12 January 2015 - 07:52 PM

Hi Eric,

Did you get this included in the new release.  It does not seem like it is working in the latest 4.02 release.

The auto play next video in gallery is not working at all.

Thanks,  Michasel

Today we released TubePress 4.0.5 which includes a fix for an issue which could have broken sequential playback. Download from here and let us know if you experience any issues. Thanks!

I just upgraded to the Pro version because I would like the videos in my player to auto play into the next. My videos come from a Vimeo album. The first video in the album auto-plays and when it ends, it advances to the next video and auto-plays. This is what we want. But after the 2nd video, it doesn't advance to the 3rd. And if I manually play the 3rd, it doesn't advance to the 4th. Appears to only work for the first 2.

What am I doing wrong and how do I get all the videos in my album to auto play from one into the next?

Orsini,

Kindly provide me a link to a page where this feature is not working properly and I'll be more than happy to troubleshoot for you.

Thanks!

Hi Brandon -

Have you had a chance to look at this? I just returned from vacation and the player is still only advancing from the first to the second video, not through the whole loop. Eager to get this resolved. Thanks!

Any insight? I need to get this player working properly and can't figure out why the first 2 videos advance from one to the next but the following 3 do not.

Hi,

I took a close look and this is most definitely a bug; I was able to reproduce the problem in our test environment. I'm having trouble determining if it's an issue with TubePress or Vimeo. Ran some tests tonight but didn't come to any conclusions. I will investigate further tomorrow and (hopefully) have an easy patch available.

Thanks for your understanding and please stand by for an update!

Quick update - I've been working on this issue for most of the afternoon. No resolution yet but I'm confident I'll fix it.

OK, I think I have a fix which you can view live at: http://vimeo.gopagoda.io/

To install the patch, you'll need to update two files in your installation:

  • Replace the contents of tubepress_pro_3_1_6/src/main/php/add-ons/vimeo/resources/templates/embedded/vimeo.tpl.php with these contents.

  • Replace the contents of tubepress_pro_3_1_6/src/main/php/add-ons/provimeo/resources/public/js/vimeo-player-api.js with these contents.

That should fix the issue. Give it a try and let us know? If you can confirm that this works, I'll ensure it's included in the upcoming TubePress 4.0.0. Thanks!

Sorry, I spoke to soon here. Today the page doesn't load the player at all. If I inspect the code, I see this error message where the player should be:

No HTTP transports could execute GET to

What could be causing this?

The "No HTTP transports" message is unrelated and has a straightforward explanation and solution. Curious as to why it started popping up just now - something on your host must have changed.

Give that a try and let us know. Thanks!
