Are the you tube video's supposed to link to the you tube site on an iPhone or some other solution? It looked like this was talked about on the old google forum a couple of years ago but I don't see any help here. There is just a blank space where the video is supposed to be.

this is on a live site so i'd rather e-mail through personal link so url doesn't get listed publically.

thanks.

Eric has indicated that he's moving over to the IFRAME version of YouTube embedding in his next release (sometime really soon, I hope!) This should get things working with IOS devices (which don't support flash.) For testing, you can download the development branch from Eric's Github and try out the new embedding code. The development code isn't Pro enabled, but will demonstrate this new method of YouTube embedding.

Tony is exactly right. The upcoming version of TubePress (due within a few days) will use the iframe player for YouTube. In fact, the older embedded-object has been removed entirely as YouTube has clearly moved away from it.

In a day or so I'll have a release candidate available for testing, but as Tony said you can grab the free version from the development branch on github.

I tried updating JW player to the new JW Player 5 for Flash & HTML5 http://www.longtailv.../jw-flv-player/ after getting an email from them notifying me about the update supporting html5 (ergo ipads/iphones).

I uploaded the new player, and end result is that when I enable it in tubepress it now tells me (on a computer) that the youtube video has 'Embedding this video disabled by owner' which is in fact not correct.

Furthermore, when I attempt to view it on my ipad, the video player doesn't show up at all, but the thumbnails do show up.

So I guess, still waiting for the new version of tubepress with iframe support, not certain if something might need to be tweeked such that this alternate player can work with tubepress again. :)

I'm using the beta 2.2.0 release of TP Pro with FancyBox. Works fine on iOS... tested on iPad and iPod Touch 2G.

I also got the email from JW about their new player, and it's definitely on the radar for the future. For the moment, I need to focus on pushing out version 2.2.0 - as Tony mentioned there is a release candidate already available for this version.

I neglected to clarify a bit. It seems the pop up player option is the one that doesn't work with iphone/ipad. Fixed player works, but when you want to only display thumbnails (limited screen real estate) the pop up player options that I have seen don't seem to work. :)

Any workarounds or configurations that do work now, that I have missed would definitely be helpful...
