WordPress 3.5 Pro 2.4.5 wp-admin/widgets.php issue [SOLVED]

Best Answer Anonymous, 28 December 2012 - 08:14 AM

Disregard this. After poking at the host for awhile. they must have found something on their end causing issues. I have absolutely no idea but I'll live with the mystery because it mysteriously works this morning. Go to the full post

On WordPress 3.5, Pro 2.4.5 activates fine, but if you go to wp-admin/widgets.php, the page is blank. Deactivating the plugin solves the issue.

Hi,

Were you upgrading from a previous version of TubePress? Or is this a fresh installation? That might help diagnose the problem.

I would try two other things that will help us figure out the issue:

  • Enable WordPress debugging by setting WP_DEBUG to true in wp-config.php

  • Check your PHP error log. A blank white screen means that PHP hit a fatal error, and these are nearly always logged somewhere on the server. Your hosting provider should be able to help you locate your error log.
Give one or both of those a try and let us know how it works? Thanks!

Yes, it was an upgrade from an earlier version of TubePress. 2.2.9 ( I think ), which was causing a front end script error.

The old version was find on the widgets page and not on the front end, the new the reverse. I'll try to get an error_log. There isn't one in a standard location on this host.
I can tell you that in the Firebug console, it shows an 500 internal server error with the new version, but not with the old.

OK, let us know if you can find the log.

Do you have a link to your site that you could share? I'd be interested to see if I can find anything from my end.

Still waiting on the error log info. The link is arcipelagomilano.org

TubePress is at the bottom of every page. Works fine on the front end. It's just the widgets.php that we see an issue.
