Using wordpress 3.3.2. and upgraded tubepress to 2.4.2 and am getting "Couldn't resolve host 'gdata.youtube.com'" instead of displaying video gallery. Was working before this..

An example here http://aikidodojoonline.com/videos/

enabling debug shows this last few lines using curl. I've checked the url location and is returning xml

497.58 ms (cURL Transport) Preparing to handle GET to URL (memory: 60,949 KB)
497.61 ms (cURL Transport) Initializing cURL (memory: 60,948 KB)
497.71 ms (cURL Transport) cURL initialized (memory: 60,949 KB)
497.73 ms (cURL Transport) Now handling GET to URL (memory: 60,950 KB)
497.76 ms (cURL Transport) Calling curl_exec() (memory: 60,949 KB)
499.47 ms (cURL Transport) Caught exception when handling GET to URL (Couldn't resolve host 'gdata.youtube.com'). Will re-throw after tear down. (memory: 60,988 KB)
499.52 ms (cURL Transport) Closing cURL (memory: 60,986 KB)

Any ideas??

strangely enough, it doesn't even work with older versions now (eg. 2.2.7 exhibits 'No matching videos').. tried 2.4.0 still couldn't resolve host 'gdata.youtube.com'.. anybody else having the same problem?? does tubepress pro have such problem?

This sounds like a problem with your server's DNS configuration. I would forward TubePress's debug output to your hosting provider's tech support. They should be able to assist.

In the end, its a problem with the host.. thanks for the sound advice eric... in case if anyone is interested what causes the problem, here is the response from the tech support of my hosting provider

Unfortunately this is not a change you would have been able to make on the server; the migration to 64 bit requires that some websites have a memory limit set slightly higher than default. The memory limits are in place to ensure that all users on the box are "good neighbors," but in rare situations it needs to be just a LITTLE bit higher to allow DNS lookups to complete without issue (there's a very specific error in the error logs we can locate to pinpoint this issue).

Thank you for posting your solution. Sounds like you have a hosting provider that knows their stuff - always a good thing!
