I am currently using your free version but, I have problem with setting up the tubepress widget on the right sidebar of this site : www.afroscandic.com

You will see that the tubepress widget is not displayed very well and I would like to know if you would be able to link me up with one of your guys who will put me through after the purchase? Because, i want it done immediately I buy it and I don't want to wait for so long.

I would want to achieve a similar thing like the scrolling videos on the side bar of this site : http://www.africanmirror.org/

Hi George,

In order to add scroll bars you just need to add these two lines to your tubepress.css under the
heading .tubepress_thumbnail_area

max-height: 110px !important;
overflow-y: auto;

Once you've done that, you will have scroll bars for your sidebar!

Let us know!

Thanks!

Is it when I upgrade to the Pro that I would be able to see heading .tubepress_thumbnail_area

OR I can also see that with the free version? Because when I checked in the wp-Admin>plugin>editor>tubepress. I saw only

And I cannot find heading .tubepress_thumbnail_area

George,

The easiest way to edit this file would be to use your hosting providers site management tools (possibly cPanel, but there are a wide variety of options that hosting companies use) and look at the actual files (via File Manager or File Browser) and then find the tubepress.css file and then make the changes from there.

Unfortunately, WordPress does not offer a simple way to interact with files directly.

Let us know if you need any more help.

Thanks!

After a serious search by myself in the file manager and I coud't locate any tubepress.css, I contacted hostgator technician and they made adequate troubleshooting but, also could not find it.

They told me that :

There is no information provided other than a passing reference to ui/gallery/css/tubepress.css

"The CSS File Is deprecated, and no file path is listed

is not anywhere on the account, and the developer does not provide any instructions

there are absolutely no instructions from the developer for modifying CSS
There is no CSS file
Their own directions say CSS files are deprecated
There is no CSS file listed on their site, in their documentation, or on their forums
There is no file path listed for CSS

Please help.

George,

Tubepress.css is located at the following location:

\tubepress_pro_3_0_1\src\main\web\css

Sorry you were having difficulty finding the file.  Please let us know if you need anymore assistance.

Thanks!

I am not really happy with what is happening on this issue. I have spent too much time than necessary on this issue and I think that the shortcoming is from your end. I am using Hostgator hosting plan and all the different technicians have confirmed that there's no such file in my file manager.

All we could find are :

src, vendor, index.php, LICENSE, readme.txt, screenshot-1.png, screenshot-2.png, tubepress.php

Could you please finally on this issue look into this and confirm what file I need to locate?

Or is the file you are talking about only meant for the Pro version?

Hi George,

It sounds as though you have a corrupted TubePress installation if you are only able to see those files.  Tubepress has many more files than that.

In the attached image, you can see that there are in fact CSS files included within TubePress.

Please remove the plugin from your wordpress and re-install it.  Either from within wordpress, or you can choose to download it from here: http://tubepress.com/download/

and then upload it into Wordpress and activate it.

Let us know.

Thanks!

1. If I re-install it, what will happen to all the settings that I have made? Will they be intact? Or do I need to re-set? Am afraid that I might not be able to get the right settings correctly.

2. Meanwhile, the videos have been displayed correctly some months until today that I just saw an error :

No HTTP transports could execute GET to http://gdata.youtube...qKo-eJ9QO_QppMg

Is this a general issue or it's only happening to my site? http://afroscandic.com/

Hi George,

1: All TubePress settings are stored in the general Wordpress Db, so removing TubePress will not wipe out your settings.

2: That error happens sometimes. You can try changing the Fetch method to POST, but this issue is usually self-resolving.

Thanks!

Hi Brandon,

I re-installed Tubepress and tested it on this test site : http://test.the-bril...idea.com/?cat=4  you will see the scrow videos on the menu bar under the name "Tubepress" but, as you can see the two videos are not displayed one under neath the other but, it is rather displayed both on a horizontal scrow.

What I want to achieve is like the video here : http://www.africanmirror.org/  under "All Events"

Am using Genesis wordpress theme and my main site that I would like to use the Pro Tubepress is here : http://afroscandic.com/   and you will see a similar scrow at the footer under "Afroscandic latest Tweets" where the tweets can be scrowed up and down.

Please let me know how I will be able to achieve to scrow list of videos vertically.

Thanks.

Hello George,

In looking at your site, it appears that the videos are stacking one above the other and there is a scroll bar.  If you are seeing your site differently, please tell me which Browser, O/S and versions of both that you are using.

Thank you!

All videos on my site : www.afroscandic.com has not been playing for some days now. I have also changed the "HTTP method " from "GET" to "POST" and cleared the cache but, the problem persist.

What should I do next?

Hi George,

I'm not seeing any prominent issues.  Could you please post a link to a specific page where the videos are not working.

Thanks!
