Thumbnails... Links Not Working...

Best Answer eric , 14 April 2013 - 06:14 PM

In case anyone is following this thread, we managed to resolve the issue via a separate channel...

In your wp-config.php, you have the following line:

define('WP_CONTENT_URL', '/wp-content');
Delete or comment out that line and TubePress should be happy. Here is some reference on WP_CONTENT_URL. As you can see WordPress expects it to be a full URL, and it's set automatically so there's no need to mess with it in wp-config.php.

Welllll.  I have the inactive thumbnail link issue, also.  Seems consistent across all browser types and operating systems.

Followed various forum threads.  Checked for multiple loads of jquery, etc.  All seemed fine.  In the process I have grown quite fond of firebug.

I'm stumped.  http://www.lor2013.c...n-contest-2012/

Any suggestions?

Hmmmmm.  Don't have the pro version of TubePress.  Only players available at tubepress/src/main/web/players are:

jqmodal

normal

popup

shadowbox

solo

static

vimeo/youtube

Is your answer a subtle hint I really need the pro version?  .)

Any idea when the official revised version (with this bug swatted) will be available for primetime?

Hmm we are also stumped in trying to figure out what's going on with TubePress on your site. TubePress's debug output, which spits out some extra info into Firebug's console, looks OK too. Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/B7KQBuG.png

The obvious exception is the "syntax error" error, which I think is coming from your theme. But I'm not totally convinced that error is messing up TubePress.

If I were you, and this is a bit annoying, I would first switch your theme to see if that fixes the issue. If not, then it's probably another plugin interfering. The quickest way to track that down is to disable your other plugins, one by one, until the issue is resolved.

Does that make sense?

Weird.  Tried disabling all the plugins, theme change, etc.

Then on a lark I tried an earlier version of TubePress and it seems to work.  Now using tubepress_3_0_0_RC3.zip (just happened to have saved this version for some reason).  See http://www.lor2013.c...n-contest-2012/

When I go back to the latest 3.0.1 it stops working.  I'm staying with 3.0.0. RC3 for the time being.

In the 3.01 changelog you reference "TubePress's JavaScript loads faster and is less prone to interference from other scripts."  Do you think that could be my problem?

I REALLY want to use this plug in.  Ready to get the pro version... I'm sure you've heard it all before.

This is such a coooooool plugin.  The more I play with it the more it stands head and shoulders above the rest.  Want to get the pro version but I'm hesitant since I'm only workable on a pre-release candidate.

Is there a way to mix the new and the old?  Maybe the pro version with a dated version of the Tubepress javascript?

Any chance you could switch back, even temporarily, to 3.0.1? I'd like to take another first-hand look at the problem and see if we can come up with a fix. We'll figure it out!

Just to confirm, when you switched your theme TubePress still didn't work?

Unfortunately not :/

I don't have that line in my wp-config.php either, and can't get any player to work with latest pro version. very frustrating.

I don't know how to create a wordpress page without making it live, and I can't have the page live and not working.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Scott, James and Radek,

Please follow the directions here: http://tubepress.com...oss_Domain_Ajax

Radek: your ajax is pulling from http://studiofrog.pl while your site is http://www.studiofrog.pl  --> By following the directions in the above post, you should be able to resolve your issue.

James: As I stated in your other post, your ajax is pulling from adamwinters.com instead of your site.  Please fix this and everything will work properly.

Scott:  Without being able to see your site "live," I can not assist you much more than this, however use FireBug (a free addon for Firefox) to troubleshoot your site, and look at the "Console" tab, both when loading the page and when clicking on a video link, and verify that your ajax is loading from the proper domain.

Let us know.

Thanks!

Update: I re-exported another vimeo file and uploaded that. It seems to work. Don't know what glitched the other one. This plug-in seems to have gotten very picky with the last version. maybe for security reasons?

--

I went through all of the labor to change all php files, including .htaccess and then the site began to work. UNTIL I needed to swap out one of the videos on the vimeo album. it won't play just that one, which it used to play fine. I get a js error when using firefox error console:

Timestamp: 5/6/13 10:13:47 AM
Error: SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character
Line: 2

Please advise.

Scott and James:

Scott, you have two 404 Not Found errors when your page loads.  They are for the following two files:

http://dadzooks.com/...js/playerApi.js

http://dadzooks.com/...b/js/gallery.js

Please verify that your includes are pointing to the proper location of these files.  Once that's fixed, you should be good to go.

James, I just visited your site and everything appears to be working properly.  If you are still experiencing your issue, let us know.

Thanks!
