For Wordpress galleries, is there any way to get rid of the letterboxing of 16:9 Youtube video thumbnails?
Since the video world is now dominated by 16:9 HD, it strikes me as very odd that we still have to put up with black bars appearing above and below all the thumbnails. These bars greatly compromise the appearance of the gallery thumbnails.

Hi,
I apologize that I'm only getting back to you now! You should be able to hide the black bars with a little CSS. Here is a post describing some CSS that worked perfectly for another user. I would recommend adding similar rules to your theme's style.css.
Let us know if you need help with that, or if you'd like us to take a first-hand look at your gallery.
Thanks!
