Hello, we've been using the free TubePress plugin for a few months now and everything was great.

As of yesterday, the videos suddenly stopped playing (can't see anything else that has changed on the site, other than possibly the TubePress plugin updated to the latest version in the Wordpress repo). You can see this at:

http://www.charischristiancenter.com(scroll down halfway through the home page and you'll see four video thumbnails loading in - clicking on them pops up the lightbox, but nothing ever ends up playing).

I've tried disabling all plugins, ensuring jquery only loads once, and I even tried downloading the latest version of the pro demo plugin to see if that would fix the issue, but no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy to upgrade to the pro version if that would resolve the issue.

Thanks,

Jordan

In case it's helpful, here's the shortcode I'm using for one of the pulls:

[tubepress resultCountCap="2" mode="playlist" playlistValue="PLaDMk3D9ok5omkAHUB-YsgHjM57n9GRdE" youtubePlayerTheme="light" playerLocation="popup" embeddedHeight="550" embeddedWidth="990" thumbWidth="150" thumbHeight ="125" orderBy="newest"]

I switched playerLocation from "shadowbox" to "popup" for testing, and noticed that now that it is in popup, it simply loads a blank browser window that doesn't seem to attempt to even retrieve anything.

For starters,

Please update to TubePress 4.1.2 as all prior versions will stop working due to YouTube turning off their old API.

Thanks!

Hi Brandon, thanks for the help. I've updated the plugin to 4.1.2 (oddly I didn't have an option to do that from the WP repo until this morning). It's updated now, but unfortunately videos are still not playing (they were playing for a few months with no problems/changes, but suddenly stopped).

Any help diagnosing the issue is greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

Hello,

Your site is returning an internal server error when trying to load the video.

I would check with your hosting provider to find the cause.

500 Internal Server Error

Thanks!

Hi Brandon, thanks for the help. I just spent half an hour on the phone with the support staff at my host, but unfortunately they couldn't find anything that would cause this issue (nothing in the error logs or anything else obvious). We tried resetting permissions, restoring a default .htaccess, and a few other changes, but no help.

I've googled this issue and it seems to be happening for a number of people. The host said they are happy to help but need more direction on where they should be looking. I see the 500 error in Firebug, but don't understand the ajax or other code enough to know where to go from there.

Again, I'm happy to purchase the pro version of this plugin if that would make a difference, but I need to know that we can get it working first. I don't know where to go from here. Again, this was working fine for 4 months and suddenly stopped.

Please advise on next steps. Really appreciate it. Thanks,

Jordan

I've asked one of our developers to take a look.

Thanks!

I just released TubePress 4.1.4. Could you try upgrading to see if that resolves your issue? Let us know!

Hi Eric, thanks so much for the help.

Unfortunately, upgrading to 4.1.4 didn't resolve the issue. Please advise on next steps when you are able.

Thanks again,

Jordan

You're going to kill me, but unfortunately, looks like I spoke too soon. I now have 3 out of the 4 videos on the home page working, but 1 still is persisting with the problem. I tried clearing my cache but it didn't help. You can see this on:

http://www.charischristiancenter.com

(If you scroll to "Latest Services", the first video doesn't work) - the remaining 3 thumbnails in that row seem to be working now though.

Hopefully this is just an issue on my end or a quick fix - something in this latest release definitely did move this issue in a positive/promising direction. Let me know what you think. Thanks again.

Aha, this is a quota issue that we're now seeing with the new YouTube service. Please follow these instructions for the fix. It's a one-time setup process and should take less than five minutes. Give it a try?

I am in the middle of updating our documentation to reflect this.

Hi,

Here is one of the pages: http://www.townofber...d-of-selectmen/

The Youtube player implementation is working. I can't get the JW Player implementation to work. I did try 4.1.5, but no change. I can stick with the Youtube player, no big deal now that I got it working.

Hello,

Did you follow the directions here: to get JW Player working with TubePress Pro?

That should solve your problem.

Thanks!
