Best Answer marcspark , 10 June 2014 - 09:55 AM

Hi Brandon thanks for the prompt response, I edited the tpl.php via my ftp client as i could not find it in wordpress editor

edited the file as follows:

Original:   ${tubepress_api_const_template_Variable::EMBEDDED_WIDTH}; ?>" height="<?php echo

Edit:         ${tubepress_api_const_template_Variable::EMBEDDED_WIDTH}; ?>" height=100%"<?php echo

and all is working fine now, video resizes to player no matter how small the screen is, demonstrated in screenshots below:

THANK YOU SO MUCH :) :) :)

Would you mind if I link the url of this topic as a reply to my original post at Tubepress support on Wordpress so i can mark it as resolved?

Kindest Regards

Marc

Hey you guys, whats happening?? there has been no replies to support requests over at wordpress dot org for over a month now, I understand if you want plugin users to come here for support instead but at least let us know lol

heres my current issue with Tubepress: http://wordpress.org...ll-video-window

I will follow this topic here, incase you dont answer over there, lol  :-P  any advice would be great, love the plugin, been using it for quite some time on my site now and have quite alot of video content fed to our site using it....

Kind Regards

Marc

Hi there love this plugin and use it alot across my whole site, however, there seems to be an issue when the browser window is below 380px wide, I have tried this on sony xperia l, samsung note, and even replicated the problem using firefox on my desktop pc using firefox's 'responsive design view' in developer tools, whenever the browser screen is below 380px wide, half of the video falls below the player controls showing me only the top half of the video (and thumbnail), i have taken some screenshots, the first two are actual photos of my normal desktop view, all is fine there using the latest chrome, firefox and internet explorer, no issues at all, the rest of the images are screen shotted with my xperia l, as u will see from the images the issue remains even when i rotate the device to landscape view, tried reloading the webpage too while rotated, issue still remains, i tried resizing the player using tubepress's settings panel, issue still remains, im using the latest wordpress with twentyfourteen installed, deactivating plugins made no difference either, lol, i really have tried here, would appreciate if you would take the time to have a look and advise me how to fix this, or include a fix in the next update, there may well be a virtual pint in it for you :) 94% of my web traffic is via mobile devices so you can see why i am so desperate not to give up on it and just go with embedding videos, we have quite alot of video content..

heres those images: https://www.dropbox....uU4aawwSrLFtTXa

this is my website: http://www.doublevisionscotland.com

here is the issue in action, video does not reframe to changes in player size if player drops below 380px wide: https://www.youtube....h?v=pFWhYHEqE4o

Hi Marc,

You may want to try editing the player.tpl.php file (player being replaced with whichever player you have selected, such as youtube, vimeo, longtail, embedplus, etc) and set the size of the video to be dynamic, instead of static.

Let us know.

Thanks

Hi

I only saw gallery.tpl.php no player.tpl.php I am using a trial one before buying.

When I buy tubepress pro 3.1.6 for $39.99 for a year will there be another subscription after for another membership? Will my plug in continue to work?

Hi,

I apologize, it is gallery.tpl.php

As for the purchase of TubePress, your purchase will give you all updates to TubePress Pro for 365 days from the date of purchase.

So, if you were to purchase TubePress Pro 3.1.6 today, you would get all updates until 9/9/2015 and after your subscription expires, your TubePress Pro would continue to work properly. (This means that you can use TubePress Pro 4.0.0 which is currently in Beta testing and 10 - 20 times faster than TubePress 3.x!!)

The subscription is auto-renewing so it will continue to bill you yearly until you cancel it.

Let me know if there is anything else.

Thanks!

Hi

Thanks for the responds. I made the changes by adding " width=100%" and it did not make any difference.

\wp\wp-content\plugins\tubepress\src\main\resources\default-themes\youtube\gallery.tpl.php

<a id="tubepress_image_<?php echo $video->getId(); ?>_<?php echo ${tubepress_api_const_template_Variable::GALLERY_ID}; ?>" rel="tubepress_<?php echo ${tubepress_api_const_template_Variable::EMBEDDED_IMPL_NAME}; ?>_<?php echo ${tubepress_api_const_template_Variable::PLAYER_NAME}; ?>_<?php echo ${tubepress_api_const_template_Variable::GALLERY_ID}; ?>">

          <img alt="<?php echo htmlspecialchars($video->getTitle(), ENT_QUOTES, "UTF-8"); ?>" src="<?php echo $video->getThumbnailUrl(); ?>" width=100%"<?php echo ${tubepress_api_const_template_Variable::THUMBNAIL_WIDTH}; ?>" height="<?php echo ${tubepress_api_const_template_Variable::THUMBNAIL_HEIGHT}; ?>" />

        </a>

Wildme,

The location you placed the width="100%" affects the width of the thumbnail, not of the player. You need to make the edit on this line:

${tubepress_api_const_template_Variable::EMBEDDED_WIDTH}; ?>" height=100%"<?php echo

Hi

I have looked at every file line by line could not find the line that should be changed.

The only line I saw is on (single_video.tpl.php) and it looks like this on line 21

<dl class="tubepress_meta_group" style="width: <?php echo ${tubepress_api_const_template_Variable::EMBEDDED_WIDTH}; ?>px">

different from the above you provided. Do you have link for the new version? it might be different or is the new tube press player fixed for mobile phone?

Thanks

Hello WildMe,

If you look in wp\wp-content\plugins\tubepress_pro_3_1_6\src\main\php\add-ons\youtube\resources\templates\embedded you will find youtube.tpl.php

Once you open this file with an editor, such as Notepad or Dreamweaver, you will find the line in question and you can make the change there.

Thanks!

Hi

I have been able to get to the file but it only made the player to shrink only height and not width for mobile.

Also, the website did not show full player just half after adding 100%

Hi WildMe,

You will have to modify the php to set the width to 100% as well.  The line you edited only changed the height.

Thanks!
