Hi, I use Tubepress 3.0.1 and I find strange bug using this plugin. Everything was working fine when I created the site and after week or two I check my site and the plugin doesn't work properly. When you clik on thumbnail there is no action or the main player is getting grey color. You can see this bug on my page http://www.studiofrog.pl/ I don't use pro version. Any idea? I added film on my youtube channel, it can be by this?

Radek,

When looking at your site, I see that you are loading TubePress.js before you load jquery.js  Please place jquery.js before TubePress.js in the head section of your website.

The reason the thumbnails are not working is that the TubePress.js file is running before jquery.js has loaded, and this is causing a fatal error that stops the TubePress.js from working properly.

After you've made the changes, let us know if you need any more assistance.

Thanks!

Hi, not sure how to do it. I just turned off the plugin and removed from my site and installed again. So the line with jquery.js line look now like this:

<script type='text/javascript' src='http://studiofrog.pl...ry.js?ver=1.8.3'></script>

<script type='text/javascript' src='http://studiofrog.pl...ss.js?ver=3.5.1'></script>

<script type='text/javascript' src='http://studiofrog.pl...in.js?ver=3.5.1'></script>

but there is no change at all, still inactive thumbnails.

I've experienced similar issues as well.  We had a legacy version of TubePress (2.2.7) on our site (www.emazzanti.net/videos).  We had previously put off upgrading this particular plugin because we were unsure how to do so, as we no longer had the purchase history or credentials.  That being said, we recently bulk upgraded all of our plugins, including Tubepress, which updated (downgraded) to the latest free version of Tubepress.  Long story short we purchased a new license and installed the latest pro version of TubePress (3.0.1).  Upon successfully installing pro version along with shadowbox and flash player, I was getting the "white screen", when I clicked on the thumbnails.   After several experiments, including, uninstalling, reinstalling previous versions clean, I have yet to rectify this.  My last ditch attempt was to deactivate and reupload the orignal folder for 2.2.7 and hope for the best, but now the thumbnails do not operate as links at all and so I don't even have the "white screen of death" (joking obviously).  Please help!  Thank you.

Brandon,

I've installed a clean version of  3.0.1 with the flash player and shadowbox.  The links still do not work, but at least I'm not getting the white/grey screen over the main player. I think that a lot of my problems could have been from corrupt files being created in transfer by using fireftp (firefox plugin) instead of a more solid ftp client.  I used core ftp and I'm now almost there and the plugin activated normally and seems to be functional with the exception of the links.   Any help/insight that you can offer is greatly appreciated.

emazzantimarketing,

When viewing your site and using FireBug (another, highly recommended, Firefox plugin) and I click on one of your links, I receive a 500 Internal Server Error in relation to the ajaxEndpoint.php file.  I would suggest either looking over your web hosting logs, or contacting your web host's technical support department, to figure out what is causing this error.

Once that error is cleared up, you should be up and running perfectly.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist you.

Thanks!

I'm having the same issue. Main  clip plays but the thumbnails are inactive. It was all working fine until very recently. Please take a look at: http://www.queenofex...deo-production/ to see what I mean. Any advice welcomed.

Hi David,

Your issue appears to be that your TubePress install can't find your ajaxEndpoint.php

It is currently looking here: No such file or directory in E:\Domains\q\queenofextreme.co.uk\user\htdocs\wp-content\plugins\tubepress\src\main\php\scripts\ajaxEndpoint.php

I would recommend first ensuring that it is located at this location: wp-content\plugins\tubepress\src\main\php\scripts\ajaxEndpoint.php

If it is there (which it should be) you will need to speak with your hosting provider or look at your error logs to find out what is going on.

Let us know if we can be of any more assistance.

Thanks!

Razzey,

Your site is returning a 404 Error (Item not found) when loading any tubepress thumbnails regarding the ajaxEndpoint.php.

Please verify that the file is located in the proper location which, for your site, would be at this address: http://www.darkbarga...jaxEndpoint.php

Once you have verified that the file is properly located there, and if not, move it there, if you are still having problems please post again and we'll assist you more.

Thanks!

Many thanks, ajaxEndpoint.php is located exactly as you'v described it should be. I have sent a note to the hosting company but it would appear to be a problem for many people using the plug-in and possibly not a hosting issue.

After doing a bit of research, I tend to agree with David.  When I initially researched in the forums, there was an abundance of "I upgraded and now thumbnails don't work" related threads.  There still are.  I know that the reasons why each of us is experiencing the same problem likely vary slightly, but I'm a liitle confused why several of us are having "hosting" problems related to the same file, which is seemingly located exactly where it is supposed to be.  The attached article below is from the knowledge base of my hosting provider.  The two causes that I can attribute it to are either an issue with my htaccess file (in which case, I would kindly request help from one of the administrators) or with a php timeout.  Please see the excerpt in the article

https://kb.mediatemp... Error message?

"If your PHP script makes external network connections, the connections may time out. If too many connections are attempted and time out, this will cause a "500 Internal Server Error."

Is it possible that too many connections to youtube are being attempted?  I really don't know.  That being said, I need help.  The plugin doesn't work now and it did before.  There has to be a very simple reason.

Radek,

In your error, I see that it indicates an invalid developer key.  I know that this is something that we can control in the settings of the plugin.  That may be our issue as well.   Perhaps a member of their staff can provide insight on this.

I've given up on 3.0.1 and rolled back to 2.4.5 which is working fine. So I guess it's not a problem with my hosting per se. Or the ajaxEndpoint.php being in the wrong place. Or, as suggested by my host, that possibly two versions of jQery were being loaded and were in conflict. It is something to do with 3.0.1 and the upgrade process.

I was inspired by David and downgraded one more time to 2.4.5, but I'm still getting white screen.  I wish that we never upgraded!
