Shadowbox

Best Answer brandon, 23 April 2013 - 02:23 AM

Hi ULearn,

So I've found the issues with your YouTube videos.

It appears that you are using

[tubepress playerLocation="popup" mode="user" userValue="ULearnDublin" theme="youtube" orderBy="published"]

as your current shortcode to load your YouTube video's.

As you can see, you have playerLocation="popup" in this shortcode.  That should be set to playerLocation="shadowbox"

Another error in your shortcode is your orderBy="published"   Published is not an accepted value for this option.  I believe you actually want to be using "newest"

So, your shortcode should look like this:

[tubepress playerLocation="shadowbox" mode="user" userValue="ULearnDublin" theme="youtube" orderBy="newest"]

That should make everything work properly.

Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Thanks!

Hi,

I've checked some of the other shadowbox solutions (replacing the TubePress shadowbox with the download) but to no avail. My theme has PrettyPhoto on all pages and perhaps this is a conflict(?)

Here's the page http://www.ulearn.ie...-school-dublin/

Thanks for any help you can give :)

Hello ulearn,

I've viewed your site, and it appears to me that shadowbox is working properly.  Could you please give a little more details as to the issue you are experiencing so that we may better assist you.

Thanks!

Hi

Wow that's a quick response. I embanked the modal box as its the only way to get the videos playing.

Check it now if u can - I've enabled the shadowbox option.

Thanks

Hi ulean,

The problem you are experiencing is because TubePress can not find the JavaScript or CSS files for Shadowbox.

Please follow the directions here: http://tubepress.com...ss_Pro_Installs

to install shadowbox.js

Once you have followed those directions, everything should be working fine.

Please let us know.

Thanks!

Hi Brandon

So I did that again. I had it in the shadowbox dir not the lib/ dir. One down - now gimel videos work but YouTube continues to open in a popup window instead of shadowbox.

Any thoughts?

ulearn,

Could you please turn on tubepress debugging so we can take a look at it's output and try and get all your problems resolved?

Please post again once you have enabled it.

Thanks!

Solved it! I tried switching to display YouTube instead of vimeo in case it was something to do with short codes. Once I did that I noticed I had cut and pasted mode = "popup"

Thanks again for your rapid assistance! :-)

... even with auto play turned on. no dice. Is like the controls are dead in the shadowbox. Perhaps it is only spring a picture not the video player (?)

I'm browsing here on an android - nexus 7

This is the first time we're hearing of this issue. Since I don't have an Android device to test with, I'm hoping you can assist with some debugging.

If you visit http://tubepress.org and click on of the videos in the sidebar (right side of screen), they should open up and play in Shadowbox. Do those videos work?

Could either of you send a screenshot of the problem?

Ulearn and Eric,

So I believe that the error is related to which version of Android you are using, as when I check on my Galaxy Mini-II (Cell phone with Android 2.2.2 [Froyo]) I am unable to watch the videos (Sorry this video can not be played), but when I checked it on my Galaxy2 Tablet (with JellyBean 4.1.1) it worked just fine.

Ulearn, please check your site again and see if it is working for you now.

Thanks!
