Hello I have a question before I buy the pro version.
I made a lot of changes and adjustments to the free version - and now I find out that options - such as automatically playing next video in the playlist there are only a paid version - Can I upgrade to a paid version while keeping the changes I made the free version? Thank you very much

Hi,

Thanks for your question. In the 2.x.x series of TubePress, TubePress Pro is a bit of a monolith. i.e. you can't simply "tack on" TubePress Pro to your existing/modified copy of TubePress. This is changing in the upcoming TubePress 3.0.0 release. TubePress Pro will be almost entirely an add-on to the free version of TubePress, and we will be exposing a full plugin API so you won't have to hack the core to get your modifications.

But for now, here's what I would recommend:

  • Download and unzip TubePress Pro 2.4.5
  • Use a recursive diff utility to identify and pull over your changes into TubePress Pro. Personally I would use something like diff with the arguments -bry (ignore whitespace, recursive, and side-by-side comparison).
This is annoying and tedious, I know. It's also the primary reason we'll be exposing an API in TubePress 3.x.x.

Does that answer your question?
