In a previous thread, you recommended changing the plugin folder name from tubepress_pro_4_1_10 (or whatever version) to tubepress, so that I don't have to reinstall manually for each upgrade. However, after deactivating the plugin, then renaming, then reactivating, I get this error:

Warning: require(src/platform/scripts/boot.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/humortimes/public_html/wp-content/plugins/tubepress_pro_4_1_10/tubepress.php on line 237 Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required 'src/platform/scripts/boot.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear') in /home/humortimes/public_html/wp-content/plugins/tubepress_pro_4_1_10/tubepress.php on line 237

How can I fix that? Thanks.

Hi James,

Well I would like to apologize for that advice that I gave, because that is not correct! The proper upgrade procedure for WordPress users is documented here. We realize that it's a bit of a pain to re-install every new version that comes out, and automatic upgrades are on our development agenda, but for now this is the best way to upgrade. There's no need to rename directories - in fact not renaming directories typically leads to a smoother upgrade as there's less room for error.

If I were you I would delete all instances of TubePress from wp-content/plugins and perform a fresh install of the latest version. That will get you up and running cleanly.

Again, apologies for the lousy advice!
