Widget Changes For 4.1.3?

Best Answer eric, 05 June 2015 - 02:12 PM

Hmm, sounds suspicious that there wasn't a shadowbox directory as every copy of TubePress comes with one. Either it was deleted (unlikely?) or you're not in the right directory. The exact path should be

wp-content/plugins/tubepress_pro_4_1_8/web/vendor/shadowbox

Could you double check that's where you installed the files? A good way to test if you've installed it correctly is to visit

http://www.extraordi...ox/shadowbox.js

in a web browser. It will not return a 404 once Shadowbox is uploaded to the right place. Does that make sense? Thanks for your patience in working this out!

Hi guys,

I upgraded to 4.1.3 for http://extraordinarymommy.comthis morning and was able to set the legacy default theme for her gallery page, and that works fine now. But I'm still having trouble on her home page. The "Home video" widget area (top right) is having styling issues - were any CSS classes changed with the new plugin release?

The layout should (and did!) look like the design mockup I've attached. No black bars, no titles. And the other issue is that the videos aren't playing now for that widget.

I believe the shortcode I'm using is the same (though I'm not certain):

[tubepress thumbHeight='180' thumbWidth='300' resultsPerPage = "2" description = "false"]

Thanks for your help!

Looks like the widget is using the "new" (non-legacy) TubePress theme. To revert it to the legacy theme as you did for the main videos page, try changing the widget shortcode (WP Admin > Appearance > Widgets > TubePress) to this:

[tubepress thumbHeight='180' thumbWidth='300' resultsPerPage="2" description="false" theme="tubepress/legacy-default"]

Notice that we're adding the "theme" option which should apply the HTML/CSS that you had in previous versions. Give that a try? Thanks!

I also noticed that you are experiencing another bug on your videos page; clicking a video never actually starts playing the new video. I'm investigating now and will push out a fix ASAP. Stay tuned...

Thanks, Eric - I changed the widget shortcode, but now those videos are taking on the same styling as the video page. ...and they're also not popping up the video. Are we working with different CSS selectors than before for the widget videos?

D'oh! I meant to use this shortcode instead:

[tubepress thumbHeight='180' thumbWidth='300' resultsPerPage="2" description="false" theme="tubepress/legacy-sidebar"]

The difference being "tubepress/legacy-sidebar" instead of "tubepress/legacy-default". That will restore the HTML that you had in the widget with TubePress 3.x.x. Give it a try?

Also, I just released TubePress 4.1.6 which includes the fix for video playback.

Let us know how all that goes. Thanks!

Thanks - I changed that shortcode and upgraded to 4.1.6.  The styling is now correct on the home page. However, clicking on a thumbnail still isn't popping up the video in that home page widget. The video gallery page works fine now, but not the sidebar widget on the home page.

Thanks for your work on this!

The link you sent to the Shadowbox doesn't work! I get a "Sorry, this page doesn't exist" error message. Can you please point me to the right place, so I can get the widget to work?

Thank you!

Here is the new link to that page of the documentation. Down towards the bottom you'll find the Shadowbox.js instructions. Give it a try?

Still no dice. There wasn't a shadowbox directory, so I created one and placed the contents of the zip file inside. It doesn't look like anything has changed, though.
