Tubepress Not Working On My Site

Best Answer brandon, 25 March 2015 - 11:52 PM

Cole,

Please post a link to a page where you are experiencing issues, enable tubepress debugging, and I will take a look.

The 3 videos only is because TubePress Free is a Trial Edition that is limited to only three videos. To get the entire playlist, you will need to upgrade to TubePress Pro

Thanks!

Hi all,

First, I've scoured through the forums and none seems to help in my situation. I've been emailing back-and-forth with a support guy here too. I just need an answer quicker which is why I'm coming to the forum!

Second, I'm attempting to choose separate playlists for the same page (and multiple pages).

Thirdly, the problem:

I'm using 4.0.9.

My shortcode that I'm using is: [tubepress mode="playlist" playlistValue="PLrNMka2m3jCibcad4gDSAIA7Apy5nj-62”]

Tubepress is not grabbing the correct playlist. Here is my playlist URL - https://www.youtube....DSAIA7Apy5nj-62

It's not even showing those videos. It's pulling a couple videos from another playlist that I do have (but not even the wholeother playlist) This is the other playlist it's pulling from (which I coincidentally want to use on the same page) - https://www.youtube....REtX-dCjbv8HRzY

I have Visual Composer, so I'm editing in text editor. I've tried multiple different ways (removing text blocks, columns, rows, etc.) I even added [video] at end as seen in another forum. I tried adding the full YouTube playlist URL. All to no avail.

I haven't changed the default shortcode from tubepress either (it's still tubepress).

Do you see any problems?

*the attachment shows what it's displaying as currently.

Thanks,

Cole

There is no where where they say the free version limits you to only 3 videos.  I used the free version for several years without that limitation. WTF?

Please see this post for all the details on what has changed from 3.x.x to 4.x.x.

We understand that limiting the free version of TubePress isn't a super popular decision among our free users. But by upgrading to Pro (for about $3 a month) you will not only unlock all of TubePress's potential, but you will also help us pay our bills so that we can continue to provide you with the world's best video gallery software. We hope that you'll understand and consider upgrading.

I had the same problem and came here to see if others experienced this as well.

I have TubePress v3.1.6 installed on multiple web sites, and when I updated to 3.1.7 all the sudden can only see 3 videos.

I deactivated it and deleted it, then reinstalled v3.1.6, and it works again, no problem.

(except now I have to remember to ignore the update plugin notifications).

Why on earth would you decide all the sudden to limit the videos to just 3, without ANY warning or explaination when upgrading, when you have allowed it to display more videos prior to now???

I fully realize that in order to provide ongoing support and developement you need to make money, as well as offer an incentive for people to upgrade to enable more features...  but doing so by REMOVING or DISABLING existing features - rather then by offering more new and improved features in the Pro version... is just plain WRONG.  Removing existing features to now require an upgrade is bordering on being just another form of "bait & switch".

This will only result in more people becoming frustrated that it doesn't work, getting upset, and uninstalling the plugin and finding another plugin to handle videos on Wordpress.

I have seen plenty of other new video plugins for wordpress lately, and tactics like this are simply going to drive more of your existing satisfied users to seek other plugins and solutions, rather then motivating them to upgrade to TubePress Pro.

I doubt that I am alone or even in the minority in feeling this way, and expect that you will be seeing many more potential upgrade customers posting here with similar feelings... as well as the many lost potential customers who simply get frustrated, think it is broke, and do not even seek answers on this forum.

I have been a big fan of TubePress... and have been planning on upgrading... but I have simply downgraded to solve the problem for now, and am now considering looking for alternative plugins.

Here is the error message I get on my godaddy wordpress hosted site after installing the 4.1.3 Pro version . . .

Fatal error: Internal Zend error - Missing class information for in /home/content/22/6065922/html/wp-content/plugins/tubepress_pro_4_1_3/src/platform/scripts/boot.php on line 15

It even locks me completely out of admin login and I have to go into FTP and remove all traces of tubepress before I can login again . . .
