Just upgraded from TubePress 3.1.7 to the latest version? Congratulations! Your TubePress installation is now running 10x - 20x faster than it was. A lot has changed between TubePress 3.x.x and 4.x.x, so here are some common issues that might arise along with their solutions and explanations.
- My galleries won't show more than 3 videos each, no matter what settings I use.
Since TubePress 4.0.0, the free version of TubePress is now limited to 3 videos per gallery. TubePress Pro does not have this restriction, so we encourage you to upgrade or renew your subscription. This is a decision that we didn't take lightly, and we realize that it might cause backlash among some of our users. But like many startups we are running on razor-thin margins and we hope you understand our rationale for this change.
- My YouTube galleries aren't sorted correctly anymore.
Are you using TubePress to show a YouTube playlist on your website? Here is the explanation and easy workaround. If you are showing a gallery of uploads by a YouTube user or channel, the only sort order available from YouTube is "newest first." This is a limitation imposed by YouTube.
- My TubePress add-on doesn't work anymore.
If you are using any of our premium add-ons, you will need to upgrade them to the latest version in order to use them with TubePress 4.x.x. There was a backwards-incompatible break from v3.x.x to v4.x.x. There will not be another break like this for at least a few years - hopefully forever.
- Why don't I see TubePress 4.x.x in the wordpress.org plugin repository?
We have moved away from providing releases and support on wordpress.org. Please see this blog post for all the details.
- Something else!
Please open a ticket and we will be glad to assist.
Thanks for using TubePress and we look forward to serving you!
