I have a post from wordpress which only contains the shortcode for a playlist from Youtube. When I share that post on facebook, the shared post only shows the actual shortcode instead of a thumbnail from a video. Is there a way around this?

Unfortunately, due to the way that Facebook gets the information for your post, there's not much we could do. You could try setting the player to statically play each video, which might work (I have not tested).
