I'm having trouble getting my tubepress shortcode to render in a WP sidebar. I've tried adding the raw code to a normal text sidebar:

[tubepress theme="sidebar" mode="playlist" playlistValue="XXX" ajaxPagination="true" fluidThumbs="true" resultsPerPage="1"]

And I've also tried this in an advanced text (PHP enabled) sidebar:

<?php
echo do_shortcode('[tubepress mode="playlist" playlistValue="XXX" ajaxPagination="true" fluidThumbs="true" resultsPerPage="1"]');
?>

It just seems to spit out the raw code instead. Any idea on why? Thanks!

Hi da-2,

Have you tried using the Text editor, instead of the Visual editor? this usually fixes the issue.

Also, are you trying to place the sidebar on a page or post?

Thanks!

There's only one editor for my sidebar widgets (Appearance -> Widgets)

The sidebar would appear on a page, not a post.

Thanks

Hi da-2,

I'm sorry, my answer yesterday was written while distracted.

Is there a reason that you are not just using the TubePress widget?

I just pasted your above shortcode (with an actual playlist value) into a demo environment and it worked perfectly.

Thanks!

I see, thank you.

Another issue though, can I not use more than one Tubepress widget in my sidebars? I activated one and it's in my sidebar, but the Tubepress widget is no longer listed in the Available Widgets.

Hi da-2,

Unfortunately at this time TubePress can only function within one sidebar widget.

Thanks

Is there any way around this? Is there maybe a way to use PHP in the tubepress widget so that I can set parameters? Or is there a way to allow me to use the tubepress shortcode in an advanced text widget?

Hello,

I believe that TubePress 4.0 (which will be out in Beta within the next week, so I'm told) will address this issue.

Thanks!
