Hello,

We have had TubePress on this site (http://www.sleepyman...jo-boys-videos/) and it's worked great, except a few days ago our client noticed that when he clicked on a thumbnail the video did not switch over and a gray transparent overlay shows up.

Console gives me this:

Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL http://www.sleepyman...jo-boys-videos/ from frame with URL http://www.youtube.c...el=0&showinfo=0. Domains, protocols and ports must match.
  1. POST http://www.sleepyman...jaxEndpoint.php 500 (Internal Server Error) jquery.js:2
  1. Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'title' of null

I checked an cannot find any reason that there would be a cross-domain issue with this site, and it appears I do not have multiple instances of jQuery going on either. Is this possibly an incompatibility with a version? We are using version 3.0.1 on WordPress 3.5.1.

Hi Jesse,

I just took a look at your linked website and I am not experiencing this issue.  Could you please check and see if you still see the problem, and if so, please re-post here letting me know which browser you are using so I can try and re-create it.

Thanks!

The client changed it last night in the settings, and it seems to work... here is what he did:

I was able to get the videos working by messing with the Tubepress playback settings.  It's slightly less efficient, but I changed the settings to have the page "refresh on each thumbnail click" and it's now working.

So I guess it was an ajax error? I'm not really sure why that setting would fix the error. If you have any insight please let me know.

Hi Jesse,

If you'd like us to try and diagnose what would cause that error, please create a test page and use the shortcode [tubepress playerLocation="normal"] and then post a link to that page here, and we'll take a look at it and see what was/is causing your problems.

Thanks!

Hi Brandon, thanks for replying.

I have a test page set up here: http://www.sleepyman....com/test-tube/

But the setting that we are trying to debug is global, no? Right now the client has changed the setting so changing it back to the setting that was causing the problem may not be an option for them at the moment.

Jesse,

When TubePress fetches the HTML for a new video, it makes an Ajax request to the following URL: http://www.sleepyman...deo=J7MoWPTeYS4

Go ahead and click on that link and you'll see that it's returning an HTTP 500 Internal Server error. Your webserver error log will have information on what happened under the hood, and your hosting provider should help you track down the log if you need assistance with that.

If you're running on a Windows-based webserver, you might also want to try the fix found here: http://community.tub...-screen/?p=8666

Let us know what you find. Thanks!

Hi - I've got the same issue.

The site is running  WordPress 3.9.1 with the latest version of TubePress. The initial video in the stack runs properly, but when clicking on a thumbnail, a grey screen/filter shows over the video display. The play button still works. You can see what an example here: http://www.stage.son.../wp/?page_id=92 When clicking on a thumbnail, the video does not change, a grey filter is placed over the top of the existing video.

When the settings are changed to show a refreshed page when clicking the thumbnails, the video changes, but does not auto-play, even when set to do so in the settings screen.

I have tested it in Chrome and IE8. Thanks -- Mark

Hello Mark,

You are also receiving a 500 - Internal Server Error, this time when fetching this link: http://www.stage.son...eryId=667571740

Your webserver error log will have information on what happened under the hood, and your hosting provider should help you track down the log if you need assistance with that.

I'm having the same problem but it's not clear to me how the other guys fixed it. I've deactivated all other plugins but it does not work http://thedigitalcit...tories-group-1/  I can do a workaround by choosing invoking the page refresh option but auto play is much cooler and would be my preference. It works fine here http://stmedia.org/vids-1/  and it's the same content, webhost, WP skin - hope you can suggest an answer

Hi Steve,

This appears to be working properly.  Are you still experiencing this issue or has it been resolved?

Thanks!

it only appears to be working because I had it set to select videos "Statically". When I set it to automatically play the selected video I get the grey overlay - the fault described above. http://thedigitalcit...tories-group-1/

I would prefer to use it in this mode if possible because I have it working fine that way on another site and I like it. Select videos statically  is just a workaround and it's a bit clunky if you ask me.

Steve,

Could you post a link to a page where you are using the shortcode that is giving you problems? This will allow us to troubleshoot the issue.

Thanks

Hi Steve,

I've asked one of our developers to look at this issue.

Hi Steve,

So your problem is actually being caused by WP Super Cache not being installed properly.  Once you get that fixed, TubePress should work great.

<!-- WP Super Cache is installed but broken. The constant WPCACHEHOME must be set in the file wp-config.php and point at the WP Super Cache plugin directory. -->

Thanks!
