I know this question has been asked before but no suitable answer was posted for my situation. It's driving me potty thrying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I'm having a problem getting custom themes to work on the php standalone version. I only really want to make a few changes to the default theme css. Anyway here is what i have done so far.

- create the directory at tubepress_pro_2_4_5/content/themes/mytheme
- copied style.css file from the default theme into the mytheme directory and made a few minor changes.
- set the shortcode within my webpage to use the new theme

When I load the page I can still see only the standard default theme without my css change. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

I'm sorry that you're having trouble getting your custom CSS to work. The fact is that CSS with TubePress themes has been deprecated for exactly the reasons that you're experiencing - it was just too flaky.

The solution is to add your custom CSS to your website's existing CSS files. This will protect your changes when TubePress is upgraded. If you'd like any assistance with that, please feel free to send along a link to your site and we'll be happy to take a first-hand look. Thanks!
